As part of our year-long celebration of our 10th anniversary, we present the 5th AbGradE Workshop, our one-day workshop just ahead of the EANA Conference in September 2024!
What: Methods in Astrobiology
Where: Space Research Institute (Institut fuer Weltraumforschung, IWF), Graz (Austria)
When: 2nd September, 2024 (before EANA 2024, which will be held 3rd-6th September)
As always, this meeting is aimed at early-career astrobiologists and will specifically focus on methods in astrobiology. Have you ever looked at a paper or listened to a conference talk about a topic that is relevant to you but from a different enough field that you don’t understand the methods or tools used? This workshop is here to help! The program will include a symposium in the morning, during which participants will be able present their research focusing on the methodologies and tools they use, and a workshop in the afternoon, where we’ll explore methodologies used in the different disciplines that make up the field of astrobiology.
Icebreaker on Sunday 1st:
On the day before, we will be organising a tour of the lovely city of Graz: starting at 16:00, this will last around 2 hours and will include a guided tour of the town ending at the top of the name of the Schlossberg. There, you will have a chance to go to the 4D cinema and experience one of the main attractions in Graz: the tallest underground slide in the world. While the guided city tour is free, the cinema and slide are 10-15€ per person, therefore if you’d like to join either (or both!) please declare it when you register.
In the evening, we’ll be going for dinner and drinks at the Area 5 rooftop bar, with lovely views of Graz, kindly sponsored by AstrobiologyOU.

Schedule:

We look forward to welcoming you to Graz!
