AstrobiologyOU

AstrobiologyOU is an interdisciplinary research group that is working collaboratively to address the scientific, governance and ethical challenges associated with the advancement of astrobiology and related space exploration missions; whilst ensuring societal benefits and sustainability. The research group formally formed in 2019, when they received £6.7 million from Research England to build capacity. As of September 2020, the group consists of 24 academic and research staff and 13 research students based at the Open University’s campus in Milton Keynes, plus administrative and laboratory support. They have academic staff affiliated with them, who are based at other institutions.
