Summer school: Biosignatures and the search for Life on Mars (Iceland)

June 18-26

The summer school aims to cover the subject of the search for life in different environments, both on early Earth, below Earth’s surface and on Mars. It will bring together students and researchers from a multitude of different fields. It is co-organised by the European Astrobiology Institute,  the University of Akureyri and Stockholm University. Field studies on the colonisation of lava fields and Mars analogue landscapes will complement the lectures.

Highly merited researchers have agreed to teach at the course (see the Programme for details). Deadline to apply: 15 April 2026, 23:59 UTC.


EANA 2026, Neuchâtel (Switzerland), September 1-4

The European Astrobiology Network Association (EANA) 2026 conference will be held at the Space Exploration Institute (Switzerland) and it will consist of invited keynote as well as contributed talks, the well-known Space Factor contest, and poster sessions. This year the main theme will be Astrobiology Missions with a special focus on the ExoMars Rosalind Franklin Mission, but contributions on all topics within the field of Astrobiology are invited.

EPSC 2026, The Hague (The Netherlands), September 6-11

The 2026 Europlanet Science Congress (EPSC2026) will be held at AMARE, the largest cultural building in The Netherlands. Europlanet and the Scientific Organizing Committee of EPSC2026 invites all planetary scientists to participate in the congress, submit contributions to the topical sessions, and share their research with their colleagues. The programme of this year’s EPSC will contain oral and poster sessions, as well as workshops and panel discussions.
