AbGradE 2026 workshop ahead of EANA in Neuchâtel, Switzerland

AbGradE is back to action and will organise its signature event on August 31st, 2026 the day before the 26th European Astrobiology Network Association (EANA) conference on September 1-4. Both events will take place in person at the Space Exploration Institute in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

The topic is “Astrobiology Icy Moons Missions“, where participants will have an opportunity to design a mission/experimental concept relevant to the icy moons of our Solar System. These ideas will then be developed in writing during the second half of the workshop, which focuses on strengthening academic writing skills.

With the exploration of the Solar System’s icy moons entering an exciting new chapter, there has never been a better time to get involved. Join us to learn about the opportunities ahead, engage with experts in the field, and connect with fellow students and early-career researchers. Before EANA even begins, let AbGradE introduce you to the community that will accompany you on your scientific journey.

Space Factor at EANA in Lisbon, Portugal in October!

We are calling all early-career scientists to participate in the renowned Space Factor contest at The 25th European Astrobiology Network Association (EANA) conference, taking place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 21–24 October 2025, right after our AbGradE symposium.

Showcase your astrobiology research in a dynamic and creative oral presentation among your peers.

Late Master students and early PhD candidates, present your work at Space Factor in a 15-minute pitch including a creative SciComm video.

Symposium ahead of EANA in Lisbon, Portugal in October!

AbGradE will organise an adjacent event to the 25th European Astrobiology Network Association (EANA) conference. Both events will take place in person at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal, from 21–24 October 2025.

The topic is “Astrobiology: from the Field to the Labs and into Space“, the symposium will therefore encompass every field that is part of astrobiology.

EANA 2024 – Save the Date

After a very successful EANA 2023 in Madrid, we are happy to announce that EANA 2024 will take place from September 3rd to 6th 2024 in Graz, Austria.

The conference will take place at the Graz University of Technology, hosted in collaboration with the Space Research Institute (IWF) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW).

Please, mark the first week of September 2024 in your calendar! Further information and details will follow within the next months, so keep an eye on the EANA website.

EANA21 Outstanding Paper Award

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, EANA is organizing several special events and activities in 2021, one of which will be the EANA outstanding paper award contest.

The winning paper will be awarded a certificate and prize money. The prize money will be handed out to the first author, whereby the certificate will contain the names of all authors and will be sent to all of them.

Registration is open and the deadline for abstract submission is July 31st, 2021, 23:59 (CEST).
